At Johnstone Engineering Ltd, we recently completed a bespoke steel mezzanine floor installation at Stanwix Park in Silloth, one of Cumbria’s best-known holiday venues. This project demonstrates our ability to deliver high-quality structural solutions on time — even when working in fully occupied environments.

- Designed, fabricated, and installed a full steel mezzanine floor
- Supplied and fitted two steel staircases
- Installed removable handrails for safe and easy loading access
- All work completed around existing contents of the shed — no clearance needed
⚙️ Built for Functionality, Safety & Practical Use
This mezzanine was designed to maximize vertical space within the existing structure, offering a cost-effective way to add usable floor area for storage, operations, or future expansion.
The entire steel structure — including the two staircases — was fabricated in-house at our Silloth workshop, allowing us full control over quality and turnaround time.
To make the space more user-friendly, we also installed removable handrails, making it easy to safely load larger items onto the platform. Once loading is complete, the barriers can be re-secured quickly, keeping the area compliant and safe for everyday use.
🔧 Minimal Disruption, Maximum Results
One of the key challenges of this job was working around the existing contents of the shed. The client needed us to complete the installation without removing or relocating equipment, which meant precise planning and careful execution. Our experienced team delivered the project cleanly, with no downtime or disturbance to site operations.
